Morning Ritual

Following on from this post earlier today I have decided to try setting a morning ritual. I have also discovered I may need to be in work early tomorrow so I am now aiming to get out of bed by 6:30am. This will only give me 45 minutes, but is still earlier than I usually get up.

So my plan for the morning is:
- Get out of bed
- Make coffee
- Get ready for work

Not much of a ritual yet, but will expand on it for next week.I'm just hoping that by writing it down it'll help me stick to it.

Finding Time

Last week I found an article on lifehack.org all about how to become an early riser. I am crap in the morning. I am definitely not a morning person and struggle to get out of bed. However there are so many things I could do with an extra hour or two in the morning - start all the websites I keep planning, blog more, eat breakfast, do housework, study for my marketing diploma, catch up on news, exercise.... and I think it's time!

Unfortunately I found this article halfway through the 5 day challenge. I have decided I am not going to let that stop me or put it off until next week so tried to get up this morning. I failed. This will not put me off and I will try again tomorrow. Time to write down some goals.

My aim is to be getting up every day at 6am. This means when I have to be in work by 8:50am I have 2.5 hours and 1.25 hours when I need to be in by 7:30am. Definitely a lot more than my usual manic 15 minutes. Tomorrow my aim is to get out of bed by 7am.

Will write a bit more later about a morning ritual and what I plan to spend all this extra time doing!

Birthday Cakes & Kitchens

I am meeting with a friend today to plan a first birthday cake for twins. I can't wait! :)

I have a few cakes booked in over the next few months and am really looking forward to working on them. Plenty of opportunity to practice my covering and modelling skills. Just wish that I had my baking kitchen set up so I could do it properly!

Don't get me wrong, I love my kitchen. But with the cats it's not really possible to use it as a catering space. Just wish I could find somewhere that I could maybe rent or borrow. I am going to spend some time soon sorting out what I need to do and how much money I need to get up and running. Hopefully before September so I can start selling cakes at the rugby.

Bella Bunny

At what point does enjoying a series of books and films become an obsession?

Meet Bella Bunny.

I was bought the bunny for my first Wedding Anniversary by my lovely husband. She has only recently been named Bella because I was waiting for a name to suit.

Then I found the top in the photo! How could I resist a top with the cover of New Moon on it? I am currently knitting a pair of Bella Mittens for her too. First one has gone well, so I may even publish the pattern - hopefully to prove I'm not the only one getting this involved. :)

This has also lead me to search for other knitting patterns that could be converted for Build-a-Bear furries. So, watch this space. I'll post any I find as I am struggling at the momnet.
